Have a 185s and smokes bad when I start it and does not stop smoking. Smoke is white. Also engine seems to have high idle. Tried adjusting idle, but no luck. Thanks for the help.

I forgot to ask, can doing an oil change help or adding a high vecosity of oil?

White smoke???? Did you do a compression test on the engine?

Start the engine and spray around the intake manifold with carb cleaner, if there is an air leak you'll notice a difference in RPMs. Sounds like its running too lean from an airleak

if the rings are that bad it might be sucking air up past the piston on the way down and leaning out that way

Isnt white smoke usually associated with either water in fuel or a coolant leak? I know on diesels if they are running lean they will smoke white but i doubt that applies here

What kind of air filter do you run (was it bought used?)? Mine was a red shop rag. Without oil. Had to replace the piston/rings but its got a little more power though.
