Hi I'm new to this forum and to three wheeling. I have a long history with snowmobiling but just getting into ATVs.

My question is this:
I bought a 83 and a 85 Honda ATC 200x. I want to rebuild the forks. I have the tools and have rebuilt serveral snowmobile shocks. So can I rebuild the front forks myself and where do I find a manual info ect on how to do them and do I need any special tool.

Next the swing arm bearings are shot on the 83. Can I replace them or should I look for a good used swing arm.

Finally the wheels on the 83 are different on the 83 than the 85. The rims on the 85 have four lug holes that bolt onto a hub. The 83 has one splined hole in the middle of the rim that slides onto a splined axle and is held onto by one castle nut. Is that an "after market" type thing or is that stock for the 83s.

Sorry for such newbie questions. I hope i can find some info here. I tried the search function. I found answers to other questions but not these.

Thank is advance for any help:beer

you can rebuild those forks easily and you don't need any special tools. basically, pop off the seal, take out the circlip and pull the tube out.

idk about the wheels...post a pic of those 83.

Man that is one ghetto design for the rims. I've seen go-kart axles like that, but never a trike! I guess it's some weird aftermarket design but... I dunno.

And yes, you can just replace the swing arm bearings. And... :welcome: :welcome:

you can get a haynes manual or the official honda 200X shop manual on ebay, or you can download one from dammit - http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=56218.
