Just got back a little bit ago. My buddy wanted to go for a ride today, so we did. Even though it was a monsoon, we still had a good time. We took a ride out to Craig's place and back. He had his T4 mostly together and looking good. Fired right up and sounded pretty tough.

I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow, but it will be worth it. I had a ball. Once I was soaked to the skin, I hit every puddle and water hole I could find. You can only get so wet, right?

About a 15-20 mile round trip. Good news is I made it without my neck hurting really badly. I'm pretty excited about that. It's the first "real" ride since the car crash in October.

Not planning on MXing anytime, but at least I can trail ride again!!!

Congratulations.

I know what you mean by the wet factor. At the beginning of the day you dont want to get dirty, then after that one good splash it doesent matter any more!

Glad you're back in the saddle! Trike-soreness is the best kind!

I'm sore in places I didn't know I had right now.

Still glad I got out though.

No pics except what my brother snapped on his phone while we were getting ready to head home.

When he emails me those, I'll post em.

We left my place in t-shirts and jeans. I forgot I had a Thor Mudsuit in the garage.

By time we got to my bro's place we were soaked to the skin. We stood around and BS'd for a bit and the guy I rode with started getting really cold and shivering. My bro hooked us up with some dry T-Shirts, dad hooked us up with some jackets and rain coats for the ride back. It was a lot more comfy on the ride home for sure.

The guy that went with me never rode a quad before, but used to own a street bike and rode dirt bikes before. I put him on the banshee and he did fine. That seems to be the case with my banshee lately..the last several rides it's been on, it's been piloted by guys with little to no experience on a quad. Glad my shee is set up well for woods and can idle along all day without loading up and fouling plugs.

I just hope he's as sore as I am today.

We were sitting on the couch and I had given up hope of riding when it started downpouring. I told him while it was raining that I didn't like to get wet and real muddy. I'm a sis and like to stay clean when I ride if I can help it. It let up for a few minutes and he said, let's go riding and get a little wet. We were out for about ten minutes and I stopped and asked if this was wet enough and if he wanted to keep going. He said "yep, we can't get any wetter" I said "Alright...lets hit it" and we pounded through every water hole on the way. I was a bit concerned about the banshee running with no airbox lid, but it seemed to do fine.

A crappy weather ride is better than a crappy weather ride on the couch any day.

Thanks for the words of encouragement....I need to take about 1200mg of Ibuprofen now...later.

Mud riding can be wicked good fun, I just can't bear the thought of all that cleaning when it's over. Maybe it's age, when I was younger I didn't care about the bearings, cables and all the nice little places mud and crud can find, now it's the hours of cleaning it takes to get it back to where I like seeing it. Mine could sit for a couple months before getting ridden again, and mud isn't exactly a protective layer.
Sometimes you just need to say WTF and go anyway, Glad you did, now go rest those muscles and don't even look in the garage at those machines , you'll be looking at them enough in the days to come cause it looks like you like your machines as clean as mine. LOL

Some pics Craig snapped with his phone.

This was after drying off and getting ready to head home.

Pants are still soaked through...but the dry T-Shirts, jackets, and Rain coats were very nice to have!!!

Thanks guys.

It's great to be able to ride again. :w00t:

I met up with Craig, Max, and a local guy on Saturday and rode for a few hours. We did some trail finding around my place instead of riding out by Craig's. No pics, but put about 20 miles or so on the banshee this time. I'm a bit sore today, but nothing too bad or neck specific.

Both machines are still crud covered in the garage.

I just woke up and what do we have outside this morning....SNOW :wondering

Snowed here on the island too. Nothing unusual for this place really.

I'd like to see more pics of that blue Karmann Ghia. :-D

I got to go for a ride the other day on my 350x. I pulled it out of the garage so we could fix my truck. It was a good 20 feet. I didn't even get dirty!
