well the free klt is giving me some probs. it will rev fine in nuetral, revs fine in 1st, but shift second and i can only go about half throttle then it starts to bog and pop, like its runing out of fuel, but the pump is working fine. the more i turn the A/F screw out it gets a little better, but not much. i sprayed around the carb boot and base/head gaskets and no leaks. carb has been cleaned like 5 times. i cant figure it out:crazy:

thanks
Evan

What's the air filter look like? Might be running lean. Oh and your gas might have water in it.

plug looks to be a bit on the black side, but nothing that would make it run like this. filter is new. gas is fresh

Have you checked the timing?

First check the petcock and make sure the gas cap in venting. Then do a compression test

has a tank under the seat, and a fuel pump. no pet cock fuel flows great from tank to pump and the pump pumps like crazy. great compresion.

check the wiring from the stator and CDI, had the same problem, when the CDI got hot it would do that. turned the plug black cause it wasn't firing right when at an idle. the other thing to try is try second gear with about 1/4 choke and see if it resolves your issue. a worn carb will do what your talking about by sucking air in the top of the slider if your O ring is shot or the seal is gone where the cable goes into the cap.
