I had to turn a new upper shock bushing on the X because mine got lost so i just now got enough motivation to do it, and it only took 15 min. So anyway i put it all together last night, took it out to my work this morning it fired right up had a few issues i think with a little bit of old gas, but when the fresh 93 got to it everything was fine. I wish i had taken my camera to work with me because i had a pretty big scare once i got it fired. After it idled for about 3 minutes it started smoking like you wouldn't believe all around the exhaust ports. This was enough smoke to gag you and way more than i wanted to see. It took me a few minutes but i figured out that was coming from the paint burning off the header pipe. I didn't paint it so i guess i should have stripped it and used some high temp VHT or something. Other than that it was flawless, no smoke from the exhaust, oil change went well nothing funny in the old oil other than some gas (i expected that since it hasn't been fired for over a year). I rode it around in circles for a good 20 or 25 minutes, i can't wait to get it somewhere i can actually ride. And of course it got the much needed bath before i brought it back home, TC...

Thanks guys i got lazy/cheap i need to get the stainless bolts especially for the front end, and after i took the boots off i realized one of the forks had a slight kink at the lower triple so it needs new fork tubes and the black bolts dont cut it. I also didn't paint the exhaust system with good paint so that will need to be done. But i'm just happy it fired without too much grief.
I have the stainless brake lines for it as well but they sent me 1/2 my order (falcon something or another on ebay DONT USE THEM) i was trying to save a few bucks over J&P cycles but then again they didn't tell me the stuff work be on backorder for a month. Ebay sucks, they shouldn't be able to sell stuff that isn't in hand. OK sorry about the rant, just mad for caring so much about the extra 30.00 it would have cost me to buy them from a real business that cares about customers...

Hey Billy thanks, and can you get me some info? I can most likely make it, im a 23 year old 'old timer' so no racing or going WFO for me but i wouldn't mind a break from the daily grind as long as everyone is healthy down here (having a baby in the next couple of days) i dont see why i couldn't make the drive...

That'd be sweet man, just come on out and watch it if you dont feel like racing. From what I understand theres probably gonna be a couple different knobbie classes, I'll race in the higher up one more then likely and stay out of the open class for this time so I have a fighting chance. Heres some info on the race I posted on the 3WW event calender: http://3wheelerworldforums.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&day=2008-5-29&e=80&c=1

Thats cool it near the interstate, but a 3/8 mile track? I'm sure if you can figure out the gearing you can win regardless of the money in the R&D/motor dept. Plus who can hold on, should be a good time anyway. If a fair amount of guys are gonna go i'd like to check it out and who knows maybe if it looks like fun next time i can go out and a be a tail marker for the race...
