what is the difference in forks?

83-84 250r, 83-85 200x, and 86-87 200x they all seem to be the same externally

250 r forks are bigger than both 200x forks and the 83-85s are 1'' shorter than the 86s

well, i bought a set of 83-84 250r forks because i want to put a 85-86 250r front fender. the forks side by side look identical, and the same length

There 1mm bigger than 200x forks. Triples need bored.

i need to cut the stop off of the triple and they should just bolt on. they just would have a stop unless i add them some how

83/84R forks fit 350X, not any year 200X......

they are going to be on a 86 200x when i'm done cutting off the stop on the lower triple

Why cut the stopper??? The forks are larger in diameter than the 200x forks. They wont work in the tripples.

I'm going to use the 83-84r triples, that is why the stop has to be cut off. it is in the center whereas the 86-87 200 x has stops on the sides. this was the only wayi i could fine to to get the 85-86 250r front fender on there

Oh now I see. It should work fine then, but you may need to pound out the races in the frame and put 250r ones in. not sure if there the same.

i messed with it today, but i didn't get past the second nut the held on the lower tree. there is probably a tool used to take it off
