If anyone has a set of forks apart, I would appreciate some measurements on the inner fork bushing (the one that stays on the end of the tube). Looking for the height, outer diameter, and the thickness (all measurements taken with the bushing removed from the tube).
I won't be able to tear into my forks for about a week, so I really appreciate any help. If the measurements don't match the parts I have, then I won't bother with the teardown of my forks.
Thanks! :D

I have no special tools for measuring except a tape, this is what i got. Thickness =1/16 inch, hieght = just over 3/4 inch, outside = just over 1 5/8 inch, inside 1 1/2. hope it helps.

That's probably close enough, thanks!
My working theory is that 1986 Tri-Z's have the same 39mm forks as 85-86 ATC250R's. I have already used the Tri-Z damper rod seal in my 250R forks, now I'm gonna try the inner fork bushing. The dimensions appear to be the same. If both trikes used Showa forks, the internals should be pretty close. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Here's some pics with the Yamaha part number. I ordered these from Bike Bandit, they were on backorder for a couple days, but I still got them pretty quickly.
The Bike Bandit part number is 37478-001.
The measurements I got with a dial caliper are: Height = .775", Thickness = .039", OD = 1.560", ID = about 1.480".

get back to us on these, i'm looking to rebuild my front end. let us know how it works because honda does not even have a part # for those and the damper rod seal has been discontinued i believe.

Can't you get those parts for the honda from bike bandit. I just rebuilt the forks for 1upfronts 84 250R and he got them from bike bandit.

I'll post up my findings as soon as I know if it works or not.
Daddio, I haven't done my forks in a while, but when I did, you could get the outer fork bushing, but there was no part listing for the inner. The Honda schematics show the inner as part of the fork tube.

Yamaha bushings fit Honda??
I know the upper bushing is available, maybe the lower is part of the leg part#....
I can take apart a leg for you today around noon time, I'm about to do some fork seal's anyhow............

Thanks, I'd appreciate it. I think the 86 Tri-Z used 39mm Showa forks, same as the 250R. Progressive Spring uses the same part number for both trikes, and I have seen some aftermarket seals that were for both trikes, as well.
If anyone can confirm that '86 Tri-Z has Showa forks, the internals *should* be the same as the Honda.
