Easter weekend, we went to my sister and brother in-laws. I've known for a few years that he had a 185S out at the barn sitting for years. I asked him about it, and he said load it up and take it home, you can have it. A friend of his had given it to him to fix, he fixed it, and then the buddy comes back and wants to 'borrow' the trike (since he had fixed it). The buddy brings it back with the rearend locked up, the rear wheels will not budge. He figured it was a busted tranny or something serious, so he gave it me. We loaded it up in my truck and headed home (it's hard as hell to load a trike when the wheels are locked).

I get it home, thinking that if the tranny is trash, I have a 200S motor laying in the shop that I can rebuild and throw in it. I didn't have any help to unload, so I just JERKED it outta the back of the truck. I heard a LOUD pop in the rear end when the rears hit the ground. I busted the brakes loose!!! Turns out all that was wrong was the brakes had locked up!!!

So, I tore into it. 1983 185S. The throttle cable and slide are seized. The inside of the tank is IMMACULATE! Front tire shot. hand cables seized. DIRTY! Rear axle and wheels off either a 200M/ES/E or 80 185S. It's got 25-13-9's on the back. Home made rack. New rubber on the pegs. New parts in the recoil. New UNI air filter.

Is the tank correct? He gave me a extra tank that has 185S decals on it.

I cleaned up all the electrical, put a coil and plug wire on it, put a front wheel and tire off of another freebie on there, plugged the left rear tire, carb kit, new throttle cable, 1 dog return spring, fresh gas and oil, lubed chain. Got it put back together this evening. Started pulling on it, and I could tell I just couldn't pull it hard enough. Waited for the wife to get home. It bump started behind the 4 wheeler in about 30 ft. Fired up and sounded GOOD! I babied it back to the shop and adjusted the idle. Idles great, 1 -2 pulls and purrs! Headlight and taillight work. Rode it about 10 miles to a buddies house, no problems!

Got about $50 in it!

I have a new favorite!

Should I offer to give it back???!!!:naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

THe 25's are too big for this thing. They have 3lbs in the pic, I may lower em to 1lb just to shorten em a little!
