i am looking to put new rear tires and wheels on my 250sx. I am wondering if a wheel with a 9 in diameter will fit? so it would be 9 in diameter and 8 in width. so will that fit? and then does that mean that i have to get tires that are 22x11x9 instead of stock 22x11x8?
any info is appreciated thanks

Just get the correct tire size. There is no gaurentee that a larger tire will fit on a smaller rim, or hold the bead for long.

yeah, will need new tires. Don't think you can mix and match a nine inch rim with an eight inch tire or vice versa, beads won't seal

I can't be the only one who read this correctly.

yes...9 inch rims will fit your bike if the bolt pattern is correct. Yes you will have to change your tire sizes accordingly.

Think the rims have to be "large bell" to fit over the right rear brake drum. Some rim designs, though a inch larger in diameter, do not have the inner clearance enough to go over the brake drum.

Obviously, there is NO FUDGE ROOM on the diameter of a tire fitting on a rim. You can only fudge a bit with the width and more so with the height of the tire.

He was talking about tires and wheels, and when talking tires he was giving dimensions so I probably misread :wondering

Here is a link to .ORG that has the chart for rim size for most all quads and trikes. It might help you alittle bit.
