coil testing on a 85 r

i have some starting problems,so i checked the fuel flow it seems to be good,now i moved on to spark i am not getting good spark so how do i test the coil to see if it is working correctly?

With a multimeter set on OHMS there is a value or range for primary and secondary resistance.

Someone with a manual will have to get them for you, where is your manual bud?? :D It will give you all the tests for all the electrical and the OEM shop manual is best.

MOST electrical "no spark" is a bad connection at one of the connectors, bad ground or the handlebar switch.

MOST meatballs buy a coil, CDI, harness, stater, voltage regulator, new plug and then find a bad connection :lol:
