well there was a bubble in the paint, so naturally i poked it with my finger nail and pssssssst out comes the gas. i picked at it a little bit, and it was coming out good. the tank looks to have been refinished before so i dont know whats uner the paint as far as damage. the hole is on the rear lower corner just above the seam, is this fixable, i wanted to restore the tank anyway, but dont know if its worth it. can it be welded or braised?now i have no running machines i'm bumming. also want to get a plastic tank for riding to keep the restored one perfect, what do you recomend?

ship it to syko here on the boards...many can attest to the beauty of his work. We have two tanks out in the shop that he has done, and another two on the way.

i'll gladly ship it to him if he's interested, whats the going rate? I'll try and post some pics of the tank later. Let me know how to contact this syko dude.

i checked syko's thread, man he does some serious work on those tanks, and he's not a robber either, seems like a cool dude not to many of those left. thanks for the info goat, i'm going to try to send him some pics. I tried to post them here, but i cant figure out how to shrink the file size, and i guess there to large to attach. any help on this would be appreciated. I can't attach any pics to my threads or responses cause there to big. I know i'm a greenhorn, but its agrivating i want to post pics damit!!

first pic is the hole, second is pretty nasty dent, both on same side of tank, other side much nicer but there is rust bubble starting on same lower corner.Inside looks pretty good from whats visable
