View Full Version : 1984 Big Red Front Axle Removal

Is this just as simple as loosening the nut and pushing the axle thru. There is no wrench flats on the opposite side of the axle. If so, mine is frozen. Thanks.

On my 250es there are 4 small nuts to loosen on the right side of the axle, then you unscrew the axle and pull it out. I used a socket, wrench and breaker bar.

This is an 84, totally different set of forks.

yes unscrew the bolt and push it thru the other side( if not stuck). Once you get what you need done in the front end , take some grease even bearing grease grease up your axel and threads very important helps to prevent rusting and seizing of the axel for futher removal.
