400ex shock on 250r?

How hard is it to mount a 300/400ex shock on an 84 250r?

on a 84? that shock will compress all the way to nothing, due to the way the linkages work on the 83-84 250R's those shocks are WAY differnt than most linkage shocks.

I remember seeing the 250r shock and its near verticle isnt it? It would be extremely weak at that angle.

I think you ment horizontal, its a crazy setup, one that puts more stress on a shock then the newer prolink design, if you got the 400ex shock to work it may just go straight to bottom out.
