Hello, I am looking for a 2-stroke 3 wheelier. I would love to have an 85 or 86 honda 250r, but not many of them for sale in my area....hopefully soon I will find one.

I was wondering, how much difference is there between the 83-84 250r air, and the 85-86 liquid versions?

Next question, is about the 350x and the 200x. I have driven the 200x...many years ago. How do they compare with the 250r?

Also, if anyone is in the northern IL, southern WI with a 250r, or 350x for sale, I am very interested.

Thanks

Well here's my take since i've owned one of each

The air cooled vs liquid are two very different machines, i've had both and can appreciate both but i have a liquid right now. One has a lot more power, 5 vs 6 speed, the aftermarket caters to the liquids, but my air cooled never fouled a plug, and always fired within 3 or 4 kicks.

The 200x isn't comparable to the 2 strokes at all aside from the colors and number of wheels. When i was up north i had an 84 R and a 85 200X. I rode the X more, because it was maintenance free, and had all sorts of low end power for climbing and messing around but the R was much faster with more suspension.

The 200x vs 350x is just like air cooled vs liquid cooled R's.

But on the other hand the air cooled R's are 1/2 the money

The 200x is a great all around machine i'd recommend it to anyone once again its about 2/3 the price of a comparable 350x, but the 350x has a 6 speed, and a ton more power, plus its a better fit for taller riders.
