as the title says. im looking at a few yamaha 225 dx's for sale around me. one is in a field behind a barn, i messed with it a few weeks ago and the clutch lever is froze and all 3 tires are flat and rotting. i work for the guy and he said it should run but its been sitting for a few years. he also has an older honda, not sure of the model but its prolly a 90 or something cause its small. same condition as the yamaha. then there is another guy who has one that needs the cylender head put on from when he replace the rings. says it ran before he tore it apart and doesnt have time to put it back together. been apart for a month or 2 he said.
the guy i work for at one point said he'd take 100 bucks for the 225dx and i never asked about the honda. now he saying he wants 300 for both but im sure i could talk him down. the other guy said he'll take 100 bucks for his since he just want it gone. do these prices sounds reasonable? what should i offer the guy i work for with the honda and yamaha both in unknow mechanical condition? im not affraid to work on em and think it would be cool to own a few trikes. what say you guys/gals?

Welcome to 3 wheeler world!
Doesn't sound like a bad price (although not great price also) for either as long as they are in ok shape otherwise. Be sure to check things like bearings and cables, the cost of those can add up quick.
Another thing, the 225dx has an auto clutch, the lever on the left is for the rear brake.

i got em both for 175. the 225 is kind of rough but it turns over freely. im gunna dump some gas in it and see if she'll fire. the honda is a 1980 atc 110 and is in pretty good shape body/chassis. its gunna need motor work since the top of the motor is off but as long as things arent to bad it shouldnt be to big of a deal. are there any performance things for the 225dx? im prolly gunna get the other one i posted about with the head off and figured if its off i might have it bored out and put a larger piston in there

took some pictures today, some didnt turn out that good but its a shity camera and i was trying to figure out the manual settings
first up is the 225dx. its said to run but prolly needs a new battery and spark plug as well as some carb cleaning. needs new tires and the brakes dont seem to work as both the levers and foot pedal are very stiff. it rolls freely though even with 2 flats.

next is the honda atc 110. its a 1980 model and is missing the head. the guy said he had it but we have to dig through a few barns worth of stuff to find it. the piston its in good shape except for the top which i pretty rusty. the cylender is rusty except were the piston was. its missing the recoil and shift lever. its in pretty good shape with just alittle rust along the bottom seam of the gas tank.

For a $175 bucks you did pretty good. Heck, the seat and fenders on the 110 are worth that much.

thanks, after reading here thats kind of the one i was after(the honda). at first i didnt even want it. i rode one when i was younger and it was fun though with no suspension and the big ballon tires. hopefully the 225 dx wont take to much work to get running. ive got a line on another 225 dx that needs put back together for cheap. what kind of performance parts are out there for these things?
