Anyone have any ideas on how to make an 85 TriZ steer a little easier other than greasing the stem bearings. My 85 steers like a manual steering car compared to my 85 250r which is like a 70's Caddy. Is this due to the rake difference? I've ridden an 86 TriZ and it took alot less effort to steer it.

Unless your stem is bent, sometimes when you load that top nut, thats when it tightens up. I can get stem bearings perfect, but as soon as I stuff forks in and lock that top nut, they get too tight....

Is it running leading axle versus trailing?

I've got an 86' Z and an 86' R, the R' is easier to turn the bars as well. I think it has a lot to do with the geometry of the R's steering.

:wondering Mine has always turned easy unless I had a flat tire

It might be time for new steering stem bearings
