What do you think the average amount of money you can get from parting out a 85' Honda 200s? Im thinking of selling mine. I could use as much money as I can get, but hate to take it apart and sell it piece by piece.
It is in good shape, and runs great. Has nice 84 fenders and tank. Rest of the trike besides headlight is 85.
I am open to offers for the whole bike.
Thanks

I never made much of the unsuspended models. The tanks, pull starts, plastics, and lighting make the most. I have never parted one that nice before though, you may be surprised. In my opinion its to nice to part. I normally only part when they would cost more then there worth to get in ridable condition. I parted a 250sx that had busted plastics, rusted out tank, and a blown engine and made around 1k. But everything else was in awesome shape. It sucked a valve 10 years prior and had sat in a garage since then. so all the other parts had 10 less years of use than normal.

Well as stated, for those models, you have a few items that bring the money and the rest isnt worth much at all, unless you get someone needing it. Your tank, fenders, recoil, kill switch and maybe motor will be the biggest items to sell. Personally I hate seeing such a fine machine torn down. I do totally opposite. I find machines that should have been in the scrap metal pile and bring them back to life. Three wheelers are becoming more and more harder to find and hate to see one torn down for parts. Just my .02$

I agree with Scott, if your going to end up with a pile of parts, figure what the big ticket parts might bring and just sell the whole thing to someone that will enjoy it. I recently started buying stuff off of ebay for the latest 200X project. Its really a shame all these trikes getting parted, but it does help out people trying to put one back together.
Some of the POS trikes Ive dragged home should never have been put back together, but its hobby for me, so I dont consider my time when it comes time to sell the latest and greatest project. jim

If parted, I would be interested in the tank, seat, and fenders.

So if you did decide to part you can consider those items sold.

Im not a big fan of tearing down complete nice bikes either, but I gots to keep my machines runnin too......

I think I will put it up for sale. If I dont get the right offer I will just keep it for the time being. I dont want to part it and get stuck with half a bike .

Most of my ATC's were in this condition when I first got them. Man what a feeling when you get them in running condition again.
In my area a good running 200s will go for about $450-$700 or so. I really like this model but I sure wish they would have came with a rear suspension.

The last thing you wanna do, is post on a ATC "fan club" forum that you want to part a nearly 100% complete ATC. Most of it's members would hang a person for such a crime  :banned:

But, you have to do whats right for you.... If you know you can bring more cash parting it, and the tank, seat and fenders are mint (those are the big dollar items) then by all means you'll have to part it.

Please research it ahead of time though..... Sometimes with certain models that weren't the big sellers, you can't make much more than 300$ to 500$ in pieces and someone may be more than willing to pay that for it complete.

Then YOU won't have to clean it, strip it, list it, pack it and bring it to the Post Office piece by piece and lose money in undercharged shipping, Paypal and or Ebay fees.

I was caught in a moment of temporary insanity. I need the money to buy another 3 wheeler I found. I wont part it out. It will be sold all or nothing. All offers will be considered.

If you want to free up some cash, sell the big money items like the plastics and tank. Then stuff it in the corner of the garage for a few months. When you want to drag it out buy some presentable but not perfect parts to replace the ones you sold.

Or sell the mint stuff, buy lesser parts to install and sell it for the same asking price, but parting it 100% is a hassle and you will end up with a couple boxes of stuff...
