I had a pretty good brainstorm, and I'm thinking someone here may have had the same one at one time or another, but here goes........
Most front rims for quads are 10x5, with a 3/2 offset.
In order to be centered, it would have to be 2.5/2.5, so off by a half inch.
I am considering putting it on the opposite side of the wheel hub on my 86 R.
The wheel hub measures just under a half inch, and when you add in the rim thickness, it's darn near perfect, by my math, within 1/16".
Obviously it will have to be set-up for a 4/170 pattern, as well.
Question is.....will this work, or has someone tried it already?
I'm also wondering if it will possibly cause issues with steering.
I have a rim coming, and I plan on trying this theory out.
Any thoughts on this one?
