I don't think that telling on the guy is right. Does EBAY really need the $50 insertion fee for a nice trike like this one. Who's side are you on? Or do you own EBAY stock.???? :D You may just sell on there like me so what's the beef. People avoid fees in many ways; ie. 'this part is for sale have others call me/email me for your needs'...right?
Ebay does not need the few bucks let the common folk live.

I didn't post the link to get the guy in trouble with ebay. I figured a couple of you cold blooded hard core trikers from here would appreciate the oppurtunity to continuously email him and tell him what a sorry no good SOB he is for parting out such a sweet R. I know some of ya'll like to do that.

:D :D :D

Actually, yes guys, I do have a financial interest in Ebay, and about half my income comes from there. I get sick and tired of these guys who want to use Ebay without paying for it. There is no $50 insertion fee on parts OR a parts ATV. Theyve created another category for a parts bike, but he doesnt want to sell the bike in one piece. HE is parting it out. If youre going to part a bike out, then you take the parts off, take pictures of the parts and list them, and you pay a 30 cent insertion fee and final auction fee on each part. You dont list a $10 part, and pay your 30 cents to USE Ebay to advertise your other $2000 worth of parts. We sellers pay to keep Ebay running, and if others arent willing to pay their share, they should stay the hell off of it and not use it. Thats why Ebay has such an offense listed in their rules.

... am I missing something here? ... All it looks like to me is that the guy is just trying to sell the aftermarket Maier shrouds - and he just used a picture of the bike with them on it. I checked his "other items" list and he dosnt have any other R items for sale on eBay.

Tim's point exactly. The guy is trying to sell all the r parts(on the side) w/o listing them. He's only paying fees on the shrouds.

Is the the photo you would use if you had this trike and were only selling the shrouds? I can guarentee that right now this guy has been baraged with emails asking "how much for this?", and "how much for that?". If you dont believe me, send him an email and ask him the price on something! This is one of the oldest auction tricks around. When you see a part listed and a whole bike pictured, and they arent even trying to zoom in on the part, this is unwritten code, if you want to call it that, which means "Im parting out the whole bike, but I cant say that without having to pay for it". No, they wont cancel his auction, or suspend him, unless hes had multiple violations, but they will warn him.

When somebody offers a service for a fee, and you take advantage of that service without paying, its called "theft". Whether an individual has decided "they dont need the money" or "they can afford to lose it" does not change what it is. Those of us who do pay for it have to cover the costs of those who steal it.

Dudes, whats with all the fags parting out perfectly good bikes. That should be a crime! I hate it when i see bikes that are better than mine and they say they're gonna part em out!

Tim....GET A LIFE. Seriously. Maybe he doesn't want to take the HOURS that it takes, to take a picture of every part, making sure the picture is just right, and then listing every frigg'n piece. And dont act like it doesn't take forever to list something let alone a whole mess of pieces. U know what, maybe he's NOT parting the bike out and is only selling the shrouds. How do u know????? Your explanation would make sense if he said, "i'm parting this bike out, email me for other parts" but he doesn't. Your making an ass out of yourself. Find something else to do with your life rather than telling on people

SCREW EBAY!!! Ive cheated them 2 times now from highdollar fees. That was before the insertion fees, and now I wont sell anything because they keep jacking up prices to post stuff. They emailed me for over 14 months for $45 they say I owed them.. lol I love canceling credit cards before they can process it.. haha

I haven't even pulled up the ad, BUTT if the guy IS parting out the bike then he is wrong. If he is not then he should have made that clear. Tim IS right about a few people trying to keep things straight on e-bay if you don't agree with the rules & fees then don't sell, buy or browse there. It is a great place with out it a lot of good stuff would still be someone elses junk and you wouldn't have a chance to buy it. I'm done and I agree with Tim Sr. even if some think it's alittle serious...wheww

Well my view on the subject is that it is none of my dam business what anyone on their does. I don't own e-bay,and have no control over it,but they are a big enough company that they should be able to police this stuff and control it on their own. I personally wouldn't have said a word I just don't do that stuff,if I had stock in it or not I wouldn't do it. More people than not are going to pay their dues and everything and they are high enough that ebay could still make it fine if half of their customers scamed them. Their a big company and they can take care of themselves in my opinion they shouldn't even have the report people crap. They sit all this up,they should have some way of catching it on their own,and if they don't then it's their own loss, because the obviously didn't care to much if they have to have other ebayers telling on sellers and such. Long story short "TO EACH HIS OWN"I wouldn't have done it,but different people think differently.

Kilebeez is right...Mabey he's just showing what the trike would look like with them on it, so the buyer has an idea of the outcome.

Thats a parts bike? Man, that pipe looks brand new!! I wanna see what this guy calls a "good" trike :D

Oh, and about scamming ebay, well, he does make it sound like he wants to sell other parts under-the-table away from ebay fees when he says "Black Maier radiator covers off this parts bike" but if you think about it, why would he use radiator shrouds to get everyone's attention to his add?? Wouldn't you want to put like "250r engine for sale" or "250r frame" to get people's attention? hhhhmmmm, oh well

---my 2 cents--

Because he paid auction fees on an $8.50 sale. Id imagine the motor would go a little higher.

I see nobody took me up on my "email him and find out" challenge. I did. He is selling the trike either whole, or in parts, and he has the OEM shrouds for it. He took them off to put ONE of the black ones on for the picture.

o,ok, i see how it works now. I've never sold anything on eBay so I didn't know anything about the fee per item.
