Hey guys
My 84 big red 200 has had its front forks welded solid by a previous owner.
They have also made the front brake inoperable.
I would like to get it going again but have they disconnected it for a safety reason because there is no front suspension anymore?(i use the trike for hunting and find no front suspension no prob whatsoever),i would like the front brake though for stopping uphill.
Cheers

Which part are you asking is discontinued, the front end or the brakes?

Both. They have welded the forks up and welded the brake lever solid.
I can fix the brakes but thought maybe they did it for safety or something.?
I'm not worried really but the front brake would be nice stopping on steep gravel tracks!
Thanks for your reply

The earlier trikes like my 81 185s have no front suspension and came with front brakes, its not a safety concern at all.

Where is wellington? I might be parting out a big red in the near future, front end is supposed to be intact. Might be able to get you the parts you need.

I'm in the British Columbia central interior. I've had my Zephyr for 5 years, been gathering bits and pieces most of this time. I got it from the original owners, last on the road in 1970. I think it might be the only one left up here, I've tracked down a couple in the Vancouver and Edmonton areas but theyre pretty scarce.

Still runs like a champ though, Not bad for a car thats 49 years old this year.

Heres some pics from the first summer I got it (http://www.angelfire.com/bc3/tbirdscott/zephyr/index.album/000_0235?i=5)

Everyone who sees it looks at it funny and asks what it is, I cant wait to get it back on the road.
