I'm looking for comments(and/or comparisons to stock or other pipes) of the DG pipe on an '86-'87 Tecate.
I've heard all the hear say and second hand opinions that a DG 2-stroke pipe is not much better than a stock replacement, but I have used them on a couple of other brand machines with noticeable, positive results......so, I'd like some first hand experiences to help me make a big descision.
Thanks in advance.

well its like one of the few ou tthere you can really buy new. there is a company called jemco that makes sectional coned pipes, for like 250 beans. and they are nice pipes. enigma has one on his t3, his is chromed but they come bare metal. personally i feel if you have to then go with the dg. they are a step up from stock, but like was stated before, i have heard they arent all that when it comes to performance gains. do a search also, i think i remember someone going with a pro circuit pipe for the kx250 but they had to mod the hanger and the stinger to get it to work or something liek that. either way good luck.

I found the KX Pro Circuit mod while searching this forum last night.
Deal was that someone was trying hard to buy my CRF headpipe for my '86(enough to buy a new DG with $100-$150 on top), but I've about decided to keep the Crotch Rocket Factory pipe as it needs nothing but a carbon clean-out.....and it seems pretty rare.
Hopefully it won't be much longer till I find out how good a pipe it really is.

as far as DG being no better than a stock replacement, i found this to be untrue atleast for the watercooled R's. with the stock setup the DG made a significant improvement over the stock pipe.
the t3 pipe however is a great stock pipe and I could not see how it would benefit from a DG other than in the looks department..
