while i've got my fooler down, and while my 300 kit is being rebuilt, i wanted to change the crank bearings. is that something i can do myself or do i need special tools to get the bearings changed?

you can do it yourself, provided you can split the cases.
if you do the bearings, do the seals as well.
check ebay for the bearings/seals, they can be had for about 40 bucks for the bearings/seals, and they are good quality. running mine with no problems.

the seller is something like rcergrlsrock or some shorthand spelling of racer girls rock.

i have split cases before but only to change gaskets. its just that i wasnt sure how much of the gears and clutch i have to disassemble to get the crank off. i dont wanna get it down and have parts everywhere. i have the seals already and the crank bearings are on the way.

what about the rod bearing at the base of the rod? how much slack should there be in that one? mine has a little left to right motion but no up and down motion, should it be changed? and...do i need a press to get that thing split?
