i have a 85 250r just finished a complete restore.i have never heard it run, so in the morning i am going to fire it up for the frist time.what gas/oil mix do i use the honda service manual call for 20:1 is that good?the bike is all stock with the exception of a k&n filter

For breaking it in, 20:1 will be good. After you run a tank through it, something like 32:1 using your favorite name brand oil should work well.

in a liquid R 32:1 or 40:1 would be good and i would run 32:1 to break in.

20:1 if you do alot of wide open riding, eg. desert, snow. Jetted right there is almost no smoke.
If you are doing alot of woods riding, where you hold it wide open for 2-3 seconds and then back it down most of the time, 32:1 and re jet

i am running 20:1 and have done a mix of woods/yardbeating/track riding, and havent changed a plug yet. runs great, strong, little smoke, no spooge, and have a few tanks through it already.

and for a 86 TRI-Z....what the correct mixture....presently i put 20:1 in mine
