a 185s should be a good starter. their pretty fast, and you can always get some mods if you want it faster. how does it run? hows it mechanically? i would offer $500 or so i guess. does he know what its worth?

I'm not a big fan of the camo paint. The seat needs repaired. The engine looks pretty grimy, I think $650 is too high. $450 or $500 would be a better price in my opinion. The machine doesn't look to well taken care of. You better look it over really good and try to figure out if you are buying someones junk.

Hey a fellow New Brunswicker! I have 2 200S and wouldnt give them up for anything. I agree with Vealmonkey though, $650.00 is a bit steep unless hes got a bunch of spare parts with it. Check it over quite well and take it for a good long rip before you even make him an offer. The last S i got the fellow wanted $500.00 in Sussex. I took it for a run and found out the rear bearings were shot and it lost the spark once it got warmed up. I talked him down to $200.00 then put another $65.00 into parts and i got a good, fast reliable trike. If you need parts i can get a discount on most stuff here at Toys for Big Boys. For the record i dont mind the paint job...then again i got a bit of red neck in me LOL. Let us know what you decide!
Woah! I just read the ad!

With all the spare parts i think it would be worth the $650.00 as long as nothing is too messed up....

well im only 14 and no nothing about three wheelers besides the fact that they have 3 wheels, an engine and handle bars and what have you, so what are the main things i should focus on? and waht exactly do i feel for?

well, when you start the engine does it smoke blue? How many pulls does it take to start? how does it run, like is their any weird noises or anything that does not seem normal with the engine? how does everything look on it, does it look solid or rigged up? these are some of the things too look for.
EDIT: kinda common sense, but check to see what is missing, broken, rigged, or needs attention.

Ok nobody flame me im trying to explain the best i can. Stand on the foopegs and gently rock it side to side. The tires will compress a bit but you are looking for um... slop in the rear end. The atc will feel like its moving more than it should be and might be accompanied with a clunk. You should be able to tell if the bearings are bad. You can have someone lifr the back of the trike up and wiggle the tires around also.Other than that i suggest you just ride it. I'm not talking a five min jaunt here, RIDE IT! I'd go for at least 1/2 hour. Let it warm up. Go thru the gears. Make sure it works well. If the owner doesnt let you take it for a ride tell him $650.00 is a lot of money to waste on a piece of junk.

those big reds are good bikes i hear. anyway, if it is rebuilt and has good compression, and spark its a good deal. all it would probably need is the carb cleaned.
but if it does not have spark, your looking at something with the electrical system. the guy said it might be a on/off switch??? anyway if i had to choose, personally id pick the 200e big red. but thats just me.

Well if he really did all that work ti it it would be a good deal. In my experience, the older Honda's seem to burn out their exciter coil ( the coil that makes the juice to fire the plug) which is about $30.00. Other than that it might have a fuel delivery problem but that's not really an expensive thing to fix either....

Not hard at all. Give me a couple days and ill send you a link to the user manual. Download it! It is your friend! LOL You need a special tool to take the flywheel off but i have one and my family is in Saint John so i could give you a hand and visit them in the same trip.

Well these are pretty basic machines. Electircally the only thing i have seen go bad is the exciter coil. Like i said it's 30.00. As far as the fuel sustem goes, a carb kit is pretty cheap. that's pretty much all that can go wrong with them. These rigs are like tanks and super reliable IMO.

So it sounds good to me! Like i said take it for a long ride. I think even without knowing what the spare engines are like they're spare parts! I'd go for it!

Personally I'd Probally nab the 200e. Little bigger and heavier of a bike, but the 25" tires make up for it, The dual range is a nice addition, in addition to the electric start being a convenience. Storage space comes in handy, in addition to a little more comfortable to ride for longer stretchs. The front suspension isn't near as nice, but those 2ply balloon nobbies will make it ride real smooth.
Also it has a 12 volt DC power supply and a battery (aka el cheapo winch ready). Plus the extra skid plates and the nerfs will make for a more pleasant ride in the underbrush.

Since you arent really ready to buy the bike, I would check around some more. I try to buy bikes that look really original because people seem to rig these old bikes rather than spending money on them. For $600 you should be able to get a darn nice hard tail.
