is this seat foam savable? I'm getting ready to do a few seat covers and was wondering if theres anything I could put on this to hold it together.. it's rather on the dry side. or should I cut it in half and make a flat-track seat and buy new foam.. I'm more worried about the cracks than the dryness..as over a period of time you will see the lines..any input?

Go score a banshee seat foam and cut off everything that isn't a tri-z seat.

I would glue it back together with spray adhesive and run it... or give it a slight trim if you fear the imperfections maight show through the cover... I have had great luck using an angle grinder to cut and shape foam.

mine was alot worse, we just ran a thin layer of foam over it after patching the big missing chunk.

I use super 77 spray adhesive and add 1/4 inch of foam over it after4 I stuff the low areas. Just gotta keep your eyes peeled for foam!! It's both nowhere and everywhere.....

Raffa, you can probably save it,But if that is what your are putting our cover on that we made you,It probably wont fit as good, and when foam gets that dry rotted, the adhesive will only hold so long if at all.No to mention,It just keeps degrading to the point it will brake down under whatever you put over it.

My advice,is 200x seats are all over the joint, for super cheap money with decent foam.
I would advise getting new foam,or nice used foam.Or a good used 200x seat.
Dennis Kirk has some good prices on the Saddlemans' foam for trikes.I never have tried it,but I wanna say it is like 30-40 bucks.
I can get you new Hi-Flite foam for around 60 or so shipped, but you can buy 2-3 200x seats for that kinda money.

personally i grab old couch cushions at the dump. There's usually a denser foam core to them that works, and then you have the extra soft foam aswell.

Well hard to tell if it is shaved,I would say if nothing else,it has just been collapsed from years of use.
