i have had my 82' 200 for a wile now and i love it. but one day i was looking through my grandfathers barn (the very back i havent been in there for years) and found another trike staring me in the face. it turns out it is my aunts and after asking her about it she is debating selling it to me for $500. the plastics are mint, the only thing wrong with it that i can see is a broken pull start cord. i have no idea what year and model it is (havent looked at the year on the frame) but i am hopeing sombody could help me find out what model it is. my aunt says its a 84' it has front shocks, electric start, Hi-Lo range, it is not a big red because it has the same motor as my 200. if anybody has an idea what model this is your help would be appreciated.

What color is it? 125m is the only one I'm seeing as electric and recoil with dual range, if not big red. unless not a honda of course

edit: 185s, don't see an '84 of it in specs list, just something never got up?

I didn't think the engines bigger than 125cc or so had the high/low subtranny.

Edit: Chillyboarder I'm pretty sure the 185S was only made '81 to '83

well the big reds have high/low right, that's 200-250cc

edit: only see 185s up to '83, and even then no hi/low or electric

edit:125m doesn't have suspension so no shocks right, only thinking has to be another brand.

yeh I noticed

edit: cant find ANY bike with recoil/electric AND dual range AND shocks on the specs list page.

edit: where in canada are you Ryan?

Sounds like a 84 Big Red. Does it have reverse? Thats the only 84 with a hi/low and front shocks I think.

Wasn't there a 200m or 200e that was similar to a big red but without the racks? I seem to remember that. If its a 125 the motor will be horizontal like a 70, 90, or 110. Basically the cylinder will be aimed at the front tire.

The 200m and 200e didn't have high/low as far as I know. They were basically 200/200s engines with electric start. I agree it sounds like a Big Red.

The 84 Big Red was a 200ES, it had hi/low/reverse, and front shocks, shaft drive. 82' and 83's were 200E's, had hi/low, no reverse, front shocks, chain drive. I know, I own both ones.

so i finally had a look today, and it is a 1983 200E. the plastics are in great shape and the tires are new. think its worth 500 bucks?

If it starts up and all the brakes work and all that, then I think its worth it. Those Hondas last forever and would be a great trail machine to tool around on. If its all original then I think its definatly worth it. We need some Pics:beer

the brakes do work, but the carb needs to be cleaned and it probaly needs a new battery before i can start it up. and yes it is all original, and pretty clean i might add . i will get some pics soon.

You can fire a 200e without the battery. Just to save you some money before you get it running well.
