After 23 years of waiting, I finally joined the club and got an '85 350X. I sniped this baby on ebay a couple weeks back.

I am amazed at how complete it is with original parts. The carb is definitely original and the spark plug looks like it is.
The top end was nicely redone and the compression, suspension, and all the controls are scary tight.

It is a welcome addition to the family. Finally, I have something to MX and drag at Trikefest (much as I loved the Big Red cooler drags).
I also plan to trail ride the living crap out of it on PA's rockiest terrain, and MX it with the OTC every chance I get -- guess what Ohio, you have a new rider to come in last this season.
Now the Big Red gets to stay on the trailer as a sweet backup buggy on trail ride days.
The fully racked 200S TF motocrosser finally gets retired to the museum where it belongs (got that one new when I was 14 years old).
The 70, as always, will remain the wife's trusty bathroom steed at TF and other camping events.
Very nice trike dude,
I do want a 350x

Next is the wife's Auto-X build, and the stable will be complete - hopefully prior to TF08, but I'm not getting my hopes up. We do have a roller, though.

I like it , how many kicks to get it started ?

I've probably ridden it 10 times and kicked it 12 times total.
I push the kicker down a bit to turn it over, then find TDC with the kicker, and it fires up first kick EVERY time - even yesterday at 20 degrees F.
I always assumed that I would be getting a Gocki electric start kit after I got a 350X, but now I'm not so sure.
She just purrs like a kitten - a very loud, aggressive, fast kitten.

Take note 350X owners - this is the effect of a properly tuned 350X. Mine starts easy too.
If it don't start easy - something ain't right. It may run fine once started - but if it is hard starting - it doesn't have to be.

nah, why add the weight. These things start just fine. The problem comes from when you are putting around with the kids, and you feel the motor starting to get hot between your legs, then you have to punch it and get some air to it, for cooling. Once she overheats, it will take forever to get her started again. You will not even be able to move the kick starter. The best thing to do is just kick back, enjoy the scenery, and wait for about 20min's. Then just like new. These bikes are awsome! Congrats!!!!!!!!!

Damn nice machine. I paid about that much and mine wasn't near that nice. I guess that is what I get for living on the left coast. Bikes just cost more here.

I sold my street bike last summer ('87 VFR 700) for the exact same price as I paid for this. That may be a little more than a coincidence? I just look at it as an even trade.

... for hooking me up a while back with the right headlight bulb for the 350X.
The Tractor Supply part #165-666, but they had to order them and they took a few weeks. They blew as soon as I put them in. Somebody took the AC regulator off my trike before I bought it.
So I bought the regulator and waited for more bulbs ($6 ea - what a bargain) and I finally have some working lights.

Someone else gave me a NAPA number HM-202. Whoever you are, thanks.
That number is good too, but the guy at the store said he couldn't get that part. I had a friend in the parts business call them and it turns out NAPA just didn't want to order it for me because their store would have to order a package of 10 bulbs minimum. They sell them for ~$9 ea.
I bought 2, so I now have spare bulbs. Also, this store has 8 more bulbs in stock if anyone needs some.

The sprocket and bolts are soon to be 1986 as well. Those rims are pretty banged up, though.
Edog, how much for the 6-pack rack off your new 350?
