transmission oil for a Z [Archive]

hi, what kind of oil did you put in a 86 Z transmission? Yamalube 4 20w40 is it correct?

i run 10-40 in two of them,and atf type f in the override transmission

I use Belray Gearsaver SAE 80W in my '85 Z
Works good. No problems

how much advantage is there to running a heavier weight oil? Better protection? Any noticable difference over the lighter weight oil?
