Ok, so I've been curious about this for a while, the letters behind the numbers in the honda lines, what exactly do they mean.
I can figure, r=Racer, X=4-stroke racer, S= Sport?, and SX=sport racer? And what's with the E and D and ES? Do they actually have meanings, or am I just going nuts? :D:confused: Dammit

You're just going nuts.
I believe some companies imply "race" with R, "electric with E, but most seem to be nothing more than just a catchy suffix/prefix. KTM is probably the exception to that.

I believe the "e" and "es" for the '83 Atc200e and '84 Atc200es Big Reds stood for: E=Electric Start and ES=Electric Start/Shaft Drive since the '84 ES was the first Big Red to be shaft driven. Previous models were all chain driven.
I'm going to go out on a limb here with a guess that X means Full Suspension (Front and rear suspension) Hence the 200x had full suspension, and the 250sx was shaft and and fully suspended. But it doens't seem to apply in the case of the 200s (maybe just front suspension)...???
E=Electric Start
ES=Electric Start/Shaft Drive
X=Fully suspended 4 stroke?
R=Restriced (Rated R, must be over 18 lol)
