1985?? Ford Escort GT. Everyone that watch, rode or drove it loved it. I bet that machine actually had the most pictures taken. Everytime it was drove the camera's was snapping. Not so much at our camp as was every where else. lol

I am going to try and do up a video clip from Trikefest. Hoefully someone got the donuts I was doing late Saturday & Sunday on video. The ground was perfect for reverse donuts while doing a wheelie. It was awsome.

how long did that take u to build? or how did u get the idea?m thats sweet i wanna 3 wheele car lol na its urs not goin to copy. may go for 6 wheele car lol. hey howdy u wouldnt happen to know how to fix a rear wheel bearing in the back of a 85200e i got bearing and all. it goes in the right side. thanx alot howdy kyle.

how long did that take u to build?

Originally this car took about 14 hrs from start to finish. It took about 1-2 hrs to cut the car in half, and then aprox 12 hrs to design and fabricate the supports for the wheel, fuel pump, fuel tank, ect.

After last years Haspin Trip I realized I need to reinforce the supports better ( they got really bent up ). It took about 4 hours to reinforce the supports. This year at Haspin the car only suffered fuel line problems and a flat tire. No biggy a couple jury rigs and it was good to go.


how did u get the idea?
I have a Very close friend that runs a couple demolition derbies every year. He needed something for entertainment inbetween the final heat and the feature. He had a car that he got for $50 and it ran good. He ask me if I had any idea's on what to do with it. Whe brain stormed for 2 hrs over a 12 pack. By the time the 12 pack was gone we had came up with the idea of cutting the car in half. But then the idea came of also making it look like it was a regular car. So we took that car and cut it and reworked it so it would stay together until a pair of vise grips was released. Once that was done the front would pull off of the rear and be able to drive around. It only took 2 people less than 5 minutes to hook it back up also. When together it looked and drove like a normal car. I took the whole car out during the intermision of the derby ( The wife and I was dressed up as crash test Dummys ). Everyone was hollering to remove the car from the track. They said " You can't derby a car that still has the windows in it". I wouldn't remove the car I just drove around a little. They then hooked a chain to the rear of the car ( to drag it off ). I realeased the vise grips and they only pulled the rear end off the track. The crowd gave me a standing ovation for it. It even made the newspaper. I desided I wanted my own 1/2 car. How ever I wanted some suspention. We found this car and bought it and cut the wrecked part off. We then put it by the barn for awhile. One day I had a brain storm while working in the shop. I grab the TriZ front end and seen it could be made to work rather easily. So I built it.

The car is no way shape of form street legal. It is very tipsy on pavement. If you was to stop hard the car would flip over on it's top.

The forks are TriZ forks.
The shocks will completly bottom out. To help cushion the rear end the tire is set to rub on the under body a little. I am going to have to custom design a mud flat on the body to keep the mud out of the car. As it is now during muddy conditions the car will catch major amounts of mud inside. Someone took a picture of the BIG pile of mud I had to dig out of it. lol

If it's in the differential it's best to have a maunal handy. Those can be tricky.

I plan on adding a video of the 1/2 a car to the site soon. It's funny as can be in motion.

I do plan on a trip to the Badlands. How ever it's too far for me right now to take the 1/2 a car.
