I just got this today. This engine came out of Canada. It is set up to shift on either side. It was in a flattrack bike for awhile. Fresh top end and stator. No serial #s on the engine. I need some help to identify this radiator. Is this a first generation Tiger rad or is it a Tecate rad? The guy I bought this from seems to think the engine and rad came out of a Tiger. Ive only seen one pic of the Tiger with the radiator in front of the handlebars.

I figures its best off you send that thing back to Canada. I'll send you my address.... Nice find. Neat that it can be shifted from both sides.

It spent 4 days in customs waiting for a EPA report or something like that. Something to do with emisions.

Im not sure what the radiator is. Im crossing my fingers that it is a 1st gen Tiger rad.

I looked a quite a few t-3 radiators and they look close, but alot of little differences. Someone out there has to ID this! I took it out to the garage and held it up to the front of my Tiger and it looks like it would work. It would need some type of rubber gromets or something else to make it work. ???

rest assured, it is NOT a tecate radiator. you just might have stumbled onto something.

82 yz 250's had the rad on the tripples. As did the 81-82 yz 125. Heck, even the 82 yz 80 had it on the trips. Maybe worth checking on?

Thanks for ruling the Tecate out. I will have to research a little when I have a couple hours to kill. Im still scratching my head as to no serial #s on this engine.

I think I have ruled out the big 4 early liquid cooled bikes. Someone should recognize this rad. Im gonna clean it up and look for some stampings on it.

Alot of the early liquid engines had Bombardier stamped on the side cases. The later ones had a blank area for a ROTAX sticker.

Ive done alot of searching about these Rotax liquid engines. They were used in alot of Euro bikes as well as a Pilot type buggy. Also alot were used in the shifter karts. Heres a pic of one in a Kramer 250 mx bike.
