I'm putting a new Ricky Stator system on my '86 Tecate. I don't have a manual so I wanted to be sure I was setting the stator plate right before I button up the ignition cover.
The mark on the plate is easily identifiable, but I'm only assuming that the mark on the case is the little rib cast into the case.....pretty much in line with the rod when at top dead center.
Correct?

Line up the mark on the stator plate with the V mark cast into the case. Make it as accurate as possible. The fly only goes on one way. And you're done.

I don't see a "V" mark other than the "V" shaped rib that is straight up in line with the bore, so I guess that has to be what you're referring to. Normally it wouldn't be any problem having just taken the old plate off, but someone had the plate turned all the way to the end of slot adjustment and had broken off one of the plate mounting bolts in the case(which I finally removed).
Thanks!

It's a V that is cast into the stator area. Almost straight up from the center of the crank. It points down. Line up the mark on plate with V on case. Look close, it's there.
