Pictures of wifes 1985 yamaha 225dx (with reverse)

Enclosed are pictures of the wifes 1985 yamaha 225dx. I rebuilt a 1986 225 reverse motor and installed it in the 1985 dx. I hvae done the following to the motor, Bored cylinder and put in a 10.01 wisesco piston, Web cam, New timing chain and gears, All new valves, rocker arms shafts, springs. I also replaced all the clutch parts including a new primary and secondary parts. It is also running a coffam pipe. I bought a dash from ebay that was off a reverse dr trike. The neutral lights and reverse light now work. I also put all new brakes and new stem and swingarm bearings in it. The wife loves the reverse and the electric start. I think its a neat ride. Glenn O

looks great. I finally got a trike with reverse and electric start and its great for friends/girlfriends to ride.

yea, thats nice. plasic looks to be in good condition also. and yea, look at that xtreme in the back ground.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I should say I replaced all the plastics with new yamaha except for the tank shrouds. yes the 86 motor dropped right in. If you look close on the one picture on the motor you can see the reverse lever sticking up. yes that is my new 2007 xtreme 3 wheeler sitting next to the dx. Glenn O

Good to see your still around the board Bushwacker, don't see you post very often. Do you still have the YT175? As others said, the DX looks great, it's also good to confirm that the dr engine drops in.
