i found a jug and cool head on craigslist near me for a really good price but i have some concerns, the owner doesnt seem to know much about the jug he said it is ported and that it has been sleeved and the jug has HMC stamped in it and CT etched in the side of it,i know CT makes sleeves but on their site all i can find are big bore sleeves, this one just came back from th emachine shop for a fresh bore and he said the bore is 69mm.he also said it that the supports that run vertically in the reed cage are gone,is that normal with a port job?any imput would be helpful

HMC stands for Honda Motor Corp. CT did the porting job removing that piece of casting enhances the "boost"...

a cylinder is bored toa piston. without the piston the bore is not right.

i realize that i will have to have the piston fit and the finish bore done, but it seems like a decent price still, how much does a port job typically run,and a cool head has to be worth a decent price used right?

actually ,, if its freshly bored to a size,, the clearance is built into a piston,,, if you do all the measurments you will see if you bore a cylinder to .060 over the piston is actually .002 smaller than .060 ... if its not on the last bore its worth 150 with a cool head...
