1983 200e. I'm gonna be doing timing and gaskets, and would like to know all that there is to know.

My timing chain isnt moving when I pull the engine over =\ what happend?

Might have sheared the keyway down in the crank area. Timing chain might have slipped off the sprocket. Might have broken. Who knows?

It slipped off, i went through the whole thing. sounds good, has some good compression (145psi) and i will check tomorrow for spark. Im tired as hell and a lil tipsy, so later.

Cam chains dont "slip off" unless they are stretched badly or the adjuster is broken.
"Tipsy" IS the only way to do engine work! Done me best with help from A. Busch.
