Front fork question

Hey all, been away for awhile but now I'm back. Still building that infernal 250SX.
My question is this, are the front forks and tree from an 83-84 R the only front end that will fit, or will an 85-86 R front end work? Got a budget to work with and hopefully I can finally finish and ride it.

'83-'85 200X forks will slide right into your tripple clamps. I'm not sure if the '85/6 250R setup will work, I don't see why not, but can't say for sure.

yeah but wouldn't it look funny with the wide frontend stance and narrow X or R front tire and hub?

I don't know if it will bolt up, but I have a good condition 87 200X front end for sale, triples, fork legs and axle + hub.
