hey i just found a dx225 for 100 bux, yamaha shaft drive rear end is shot
how hard is this to swap out? will a rear end from a 225 4 wheeler work or do i have to find a 3 wheeler one?
i see a couple 4 wheeler rear ends on ebay...
also anyone here have a rear end?
thanks,
Jeremy
The rear ends are the same.

The rear ends are the same.
Are they?
My brother replaced the rear end on his YFM and it was different then the trike one. The quad runs a center mounted differential.
Changing the rear end is not too hard, it is easier and usually cheaper replacing the trike one.

For 100$ I'd buy it and rebuild it or search for the diff. They can't be that hard to find......

For 100 I would jump all over it.

ok so i went and looked at it with the intentions of buying it....its so shot i dont think its worth my time....plastic is junk but that doesn't matter to me....pull start is gone and has a custom cover over it. electric start supposedly works but no battery and no battery tray. no air box, misc wiring all over, no brake lines but i think there is front brakes. the rear trailing arm is snapped right off of it...i can get a complete rear trailing arm on ebay for like 60 bux with gearbox and axle though... and it has 2 mismatched back tires...so i didnt even get to hear the thing run cuz he doesn't have a jump box or anything and was kind of rude and just stood on his porch and yelled at his kid while i was looking at it...he says it runs but without hearing it run i dunno...what do you guys think? i told him i'd tell him tomorrow whether or not i want it...

yea its too much work for me to try and rebuild it i think...i'm buying a tri z 250 i hope and im lookin for something smaller to get for my girlfriend to ride....if i were to dive into this...how hard is it to change a rear swingarm on this...it looks like it doens't even come off like its permanent to the frame...i can't believe this ass says needs a differential and turns out the whole damn swingarm is snapped in half

There not to hard to change. But that sounds like it needs more then that.
