i have a really dirty chain(prolly 10yrs of crud) whats the best stuff to use to clean it?

10 years old? sounds like it's time to replace it with a new O-ring chain!

agreed, new chains should be repalced with new sprockets also.

I also use renthal or vortex sprockets.

If you're hellbent for leather on saving it, dump it in kerosene for a couple days. Then scrub the crap out if with a steel wire brush. Then lubricate well.

If you want to go colored like red or something I think they have it too if not somebody else on ebay offers em the same price almost.. They are pretty darn good!

Don't use a wire brush if it's an o-ring chain (you didn't mention if it was or not).

I didn't think you were supposed to use solvent on an O-Ring chain either, cuz it will eat the rubber rings.
