I've got a thread going about the compression problem, which got worse today, but I never created a "new trike" thread.

Here it is! A 1981 very good condition 250r, pretty much stock (engine wise)

It has an '86 front end, '81 front headlight, no front brakes yet, and a set of 20" Razr tires on 10" polished aluminum rims.

and being out on the Wild Goose Trail today

First time I've ridden a 2-stroke 3 wheeler, and i must say, that 250r engine is soooo smooth. Good job counter-balancing that Honda. The 5 speed and short gearing leaves some to be desired though. I'll probably gear it way up (16/40) on 20"

So far the 4" of travel on the rear shock isn't a problem. I imagine that after jumping it, i will be thinking otherwise.

The seat is ridiculously comfy!

Those first gen's are really starting to grow on me, and that ones really nice!
That front end looks good on there too, never seen one on an early model before.

After looking at it again, it looks like you might have a 200X front end on there. The '86 250R front end has the front brake on the left side, and I don't see any mounts for it in your pics.

Yeah, the front brake that I have is for the 81, and the mounting plate is different for the caliper, so I didn't install it. Not having the one for the '86, I just didn't put one on. I'm positive its from a '86 250r
