Ok so my new Z had the kill switch broken and I got A nice new one from Mosh. As I got under the shrouds I noticed some splicing and free cut wires. I can just re wire (color match via the schematic) them back together. Question is how do I wire in an after market kill switch, its one of those leash type. I know that with the clip IN no current can pass. I got it from rockey mtn. and it came with no instructions. Do I have the wrong kind? or am I just to "james like" to tackle this, I promise I will listen, thanks

Then it's a "normally open" circuit, and it closes when you pull the tether off and grounds out the ignition. Sounds like your tether will work (the clip pops off, the circuit can flow, and that grounds out your ignition).

OK I'm trackin with ya, just trying to keep safe. I went out and got everything wired up (OEM kill/light switch) and she fired on the second kick, I let her run about five minutes then turned the kill switch to the off position and she quit fireing (this is good). Now if I tie into the Run wire and the clip comes off it will open the circuit and ground it out and shut it off correct?

You can just cut one of the wires going to the kill switch and wire in the tether switch. That way, either one of the kill switches will kill it, and you'll need both to make the machine run (kind of a security precaution, carry your tether around with you like a key).

does it matter which one?

No, because the current flows through both of them. Think, if you cut one of the wires, would the kill switch still work? No, it wouldn't, because no matter which wire you cut, you're still opening the circuit and making it impossible to ground it out.

If it doesn't work, it's totally not my fault. Good luck bro.
I wire the kill switch like this....
Take one lead and tap it into the orange coil wire.Take the othe lead and ground it to the coil mount screw.
Glad to hear you got your parts. You like then?

So I went out to wire up the tether kill, and dang it was a little chilly out this morning. So after putting on a layer I got fast to work. I decided to tap into the coil wire and ground to the coil like Mosh has his. within 20 minutes (I had to reroute some wires from previous owners work) I had it all hooked up and fired her up 3rd or 4th kick but she did fire ran her for a few minutes. after she warmed up I hit the OEM kill, turned off :w00t: then fired her back up and let run for a minute then pulled the tether kill, turned off again :w00t: . Gents thank you again :beer
