Hello guys,

I have been owning a T3 for about a half year now and wanted to extend my collection of quads and Trikes. So I bumped on a cheap Tri-Z and went to pick it up yesterday.
It needs some restoration work, but the engine had good compression, shifts well and hell, it's a complete tri-z :)

Yesterday I picked up a second tri-z, a 1986 model.
This one is complete original except for the rear suspension from WP and the rear rims, but I have got an extra set of original rims with it.

This one is very clean, all it needs is a top-end rebuild.

when you take care of the top end, pull the waterpump cover off and see if the impeller is all jacked up. if you can spin it by hand, you need a new waterpump, and thats probably the reason why it needs a top end.

Unless you pin your waterpumps, id say put a new impeller in every 2 seasons

thanks for the tip, will take a look at that waterpump.
I'll try and post some pics of all my other bikes too

well, today I measured out the jug and it seems that is is still the original bore I think. It is 68mm, that is the standard bore for a tri-z right ?

Well it has been a long time since i've been on the forum, but my '86 tri-z is ready now.
I completely restored it, so everything is powder coated, painted.
Frame has all new bearings all over.
I rebuilded the engine and painted it, ...

Here are some pictures of how it looks now:

That 86 z looks so nice, what was the situation with the water pump when you took it apart? i bought a 86 parts engine that had been sitting for 10 years but havent opened her up yet

Thanks for the comments.
The waterpump was in perfect shape when I took it appart.
This bike also had the original piston in it when I bought it, but it was pretty toasted :p.
