ever since tf last year the 450r has been runnin like *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* thought it was somthing in the carb took it of cleaned it everthing is fine. made sure the petcock was clean too.
it runs good for a little bit then shuts off like its running out gas and i havnt messed with the car since i jetted when i put the sparks full exhaust and opened the air box lid up . oh and if you let it sit for a min then it will start back up and run good again then do it again

Does it run longer if you blow into the gas tank vent hose while it's running?

am I to assume this is a TRX 450R?? sounds like your float needle is sticking or float level not to specs. It can also be a plugged vent tube at your gas tank cap .
have you done a spark plug check after the pipe ,air box mod, and jet kit installation?
It may well be running too rich fouling plug and after it dries it fires again?
Is the plug brown ,white,or black?
Brown = optimal,, white= too lean, and black=too rich.

I'm not familiar w/ the 450r. what kind of carb does it have? or does it have plastic needle seat or is it cv operated? I had an 02 Raptor & everytime i let it sit with gas in the bowl for a couple of days I had to rebuild the carb. the gas these days has an additive or something and it eats plastic and tarnishes metal quickly. It would run similar to what your describing. It would run til the end of the driveway then die, i'd wait, start it and get it back to the garage and it would buck like running outa gas and sometimes back fire. I'd chech the needle seat, or just replace it. and make sure there's no tarnishing on the needle or anywhere elsle.

carb is clean i have gone threw it 3 times now it may be the float as its plastic and yes jetting is good its been piped and jetting for a year then it started to do this.
and no its not the vent for the take as i have ran it with the gas cap lose and it still does it
Check the overflow tubes coming off the carb vents down to the swinger.
They plug up with mud and cause these exact symptoms.
We all know how bad Haspin mud can get!

This sounds like the exact problem, I've had to deal with this before. Is there a fuel filter on this? If there is, check it. It may be plugged, starving it of fuel, and after it sits for a bit gas gets by the junk and alows it to start. Just an idea....

You can also check the exhaust, last year my wee lad's 50 just kept dyin, would start, tick over, rev a bit then die, few minutes later same routine.
I checked fuel, carb, plug etc, took the exhaust off, it was so badly gummed up you could hardly slide a pencil down it. Soaked it, cleaned it, wee thing runs like a storm.
I also had problems on the 185s with a sticky choke..
just check everything, you'll get there eventually....;)
