hello just picked a 125 trimoto

it will start.. and I can ride it with power.. for about 2 minutes.. then it looses power.. I can shift down to neutral and it will run for about a minute then quit..
it will start again and do the same...

any suggestions?? just picked it up for 150 bucks its in real good shape.

maybe clean your carb andt try it, could be struggling to suck gas in. And change your plug and check the spark strength

Does the fuel cap have a vent like the honda's?

the fuel cap it supposed to vent, blow it out with compressed air. then try riding without the gas cap and see if it stays running.

Yeah, It sounds like a fuel issue. Check your carb and make sure the petcock is flowing good.

yeah I will do a check of the above things.. firt the cap.. then the petcock.. then the breather.. then if that fails new lug and a carb rebuild..
hell I am going to get a plug anyways.. lol

I was going to sell this?? i dont really like driving the tri moto's... I heard their heeps.. bu tI drove it for like 2 minutes while I had power and it felt fun
not been on a 2 stroke in ages.

Should I keep it? I hear a bit of bearting noicse when it runs too.
Thanks for the help guys

2 strokes are noisy anyway. Make sure you are using a quality premix in the fuel and that you are mixing to the makers specs. The yt can be a fun machine. If you keep it, bolt on a yt175 front end, at least you'll have front suspension. Also keep your eyes open for one of the rear suspension kits that was made for the yt. And you could always bolt on a yt175 top end. Try and find yourself a nice pipe, that really makes all the difference in the world.

I'd keep it man. They don't fetch too much on the market. They make good play - putting around bikes. Just watch out, those front ends are light as crap.
