I just picked up a 225DX for a great price and am wondering what you people think of this machine. It needs little work I think. I am new to the three wheeler world and would like your comments about this model
maybe some pros and cons
how does it ride?

They ride great!
It was very reliable for me the 3 years I owned it.

I'm definitely a Honda fan.... Love the 250SX - basically the same machine.
Anyhow, I owned a 225DXL when I was young and that thing was a complete blast. It ran and ran and ran and I can't recall having any trouble with it.

I kinda like them a little. Not the fastest, but great trail machines. And usually very reliable.

I have a buddy that pounded the piss out his and it always ready for more, until he ran into an electric fence that ingnited the gas and it blew up. Very nice machine though. I had a YTM200 and it was a peice of crap, but for the most part I have heard good things about Yamaha's. Honda fan all the way though.:D

I bought a 1985 yamaha 225dx for the wife. I put a 86 motor with reverse back in it. The wife loves it. Calls it her baby. It has electric start and reverse its nice. It runs good it just take a little longer to get up to top speed then I am use to. I think its more of a trail bike but thats what I bought it for. I love my dx and I am glad I have it. Good luck Glenn O.
