well im definently buying a pipe soon for it. what i want to know is some opinions of the different brands and all. i will be getting a used one off ebay or something... it will more than likely be a ct,bills, fmf or dg. and last sometimes i see people running and drag racing without a silencer at all on their pipe, is that a good idea? would it absolutely kill my low end if i ran just the pipe?

I think you'll be happier saving a bit and springing for a Paul Turner, or an ESR (Eddie Sanders Racing) pipe.
I can speak for sure of the ESR and it's great!
Of your list though, I would lean towards CT or Bill's........if you can find one.
As far as not running a silencer, I would think you would lose power, unless the pipe was tuned for no silencer.
I know when I spit the core out my DG silencer once, back in the day, I could feel the loss of power.
Maybe there would be an advantage if a guy jetted for it?? Kinda doubtful I would think.

ANYTHING is better (and lighter) than the stock pipe, Ive used a Turner 2 and it works great. Silencer adds a small restriction, but theyre basically a hollow tube with holes around the outside, just dampens the big pressure peaks. I wouldnt worry about the effects of a silencer, pipe and tuning come first.

yeah i figure i need the pipe b/c the bike runs rich right now. its got a 150 main jet in it and i understand that stock is 145. i want the pipe b/c i bought a 98 rm 80 cheap just to sell again and the guy had a fmf gold series he took off for his kid to slow it up, he told me if i put that back on the difference will be amazing and damn if it wasn't... for some reason on that thing it was a night and day power difference i would have never believed that it made much difference at all im just hoping for the slightest power difference on my r
