Got a 125 trike, runs great, idles great, but when you give it gas it seems to top out quickly, almost like it's on a governor, sounds like a car when it reaches the rev limiter, kind of pops over and over...it seems to top out around 20-25 mph in top gear, the carb is clean seems fine, could this possibly be a clogged exhaust arrestor or something? Someone please help!

Thanks

You need to give us the make and model of the trike. Are you shifting it in all the gears? Do you know how many teeth are on the rear sprocket? You need to give us alot more info.

Could just be the clutch slipping really bad.....

Cant do guesswork. Show us pictures of spark plug.

Must have 3 things:

1.) Proper compression (usually 150 psi or higher)
2.) proper fuel mixture, and "clean carb" doesnt mean a thing
3.) Proper ignition (what most usually ignore)

Did you try replacing both isolater gaskets on the intake? That is what happened to mine. Same problem I had.

is it in low range???

low range would have the thing wound out in 4th going maybe 20 mph
