Its upon us again. Australia Day.
The "Aussie Trike Crew" will be having a get together at Stockton Beach this Saturday the 26th of January for the whole family, so bring the Wife, Girlfriend and Kids, and even your Nanny if she is keen. We will be putting on a BBQ and organising events such as Drags, Dune track races, Poker runs and more. So stick your Aussie flag to your rig and meet in Lavis Lane car park between 8:30 & 9:00am. I will put on some sausages and bread rolls, bring your own drinks + shade and lets have some fun.
For those of you who can't make it, I will stick up pics and videos of the day.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie........................OI, OI, OI!!!!!!!!!!!!:beer

What a great day we had on "Australia Day". We had only about 50 people turn up on the day and about 18 Trikes.
Here are a couple of pics of the day, I know of at least another 10 - 15 trikes who didn't show.
we are looking at having another "Aussie Trike Club" meeting on the 16th of March.

Looks like some sweet riding down under. Man i love the open sand. Sure wish we had more over here in the midwest that could be ridden on. And it looks as if you can ride up to the water.

Yes you can ride right up to the ocean at Stockton, but I advise you not to go swimming because it is now infested with "Great White Sharks."

stockton is near newcastle..... if u wanna buy a good trike thats where u have to go.... it seems on ebay there all in victoria or newcastle, apparently the newcastle honda shop sold move trikes than any othe shop in australia,i think i have the only trike in bundaberg, and the guy i bought it off came from the hunter valley and bought it in newcastle, ive already come to the conclusion that if i want a new trike, im gonna have to go down there....

Looks like a great day was had by all. Those are some very wide ATC's there.
Love beeing able to race other than drag racing on the sand, specially right at the waters edge, without touching it. BEWARE, GREAT WHITE SHARKS ON PATROL!!!

Not true. I have imported more the 100 watercooled 250R's and 350X's. The Honda shop here would have been lucky to have sold 10 watercoolers and did not sell any 350X's as they were never brought into Australia by Honda. The very first batch of 1985 250's in Newcastle were brought down from Peter Rice Honda in Queensland by myself and two friends. The largest seller of all model trikes in Australia were sold by Thomas-Lee in Moree, NSW.
theres one thing about your pics I noticed, you guys all fly your countrys flags, hardly ever see that in any of our pics... kinda sad, hopefully I can make it down there one day as thats always been a dream of checking out OZ

Na.........we don't always fly the Australian flag. We have an annual event every year when we try and get all the Trikers together, the day we chose to do this is "Australia day", the 26th of January. This was the Day Captain Cook discovered Australia. Most Australian's don't realise this and just think of it as another excuse to get on the beers.
The indigenous people of Australia, the Aboriginals, see the day as "Invasion Day", when white-man took their land away from them.
Late last year the Australian government returned ownership of Stockton sand dunes to the Aboriginal people, and are closing all the best riding areas to all ATV's. They say that it is sacred Aboriginal land.
It's only a matter of time before they end up selling it to the highest bidder, which will more than likely be a mining company and it will all be destroyed.
