okay, I know I have been blabing about using a yz490, so I was wondering is it a good idea?

I am think about saving up for another tri-z and putting one in it, reason being is that I love riding in the sand and I would love to see my friends banshee in the dust..

is this bike a good choice?

Looks like a perfect donor to me... I would have to see, feel, and hear it to know if its good deal... I think buying a complete bike is probably the cheapest way to get the parts you will need, and you can sell the leftover parts to re-coup some of your money
