Jet Kits... What exactly.............

I want to know what exactley a jet kit does. and Will it really improve my proformace on my 225DR?? and what about prices on these things. also what about air fliters... It seems that mine is stock and is rotted that cant be to good....

jet kits increase the flow of fuel through your carb, they have diffrent needles that control the flow of fuel, and match it better to your atv's performance. rotted filters are bad, does it have holes in it, or is it just old and soggy with grime?

all a jet kit is is a package of jets to fine tune your carb for your area and conditions. personally i feel they are a waste of money they are over priced when you can just buy a couple of jets and do it yourself. depending on what trike you have determines what comes in the kit
