I got a new wiseco piston and put it into my 83 200es motor. Everything went back together slick as shnit. But i have some kind of wierd problem. It will start, but only run for about 10 seconds that stop hard, like almost a sudden stop but not quite. I dont know if its normal but theres alot of air coming out of the crank breather, if i hold the hose to my face it will blow my hair back as an example. I double checked timing, and i have my carb off my 200m on there, which i know works fine. I drained the oil and it drained pretty slow, as if somethings was blocked. And if i turn it over by hand (pull startd not hooked up) its pretty hard. But the electric starter has no problem. I dont want to rip it apart incase its just some little thing i have to do, which i hope it is, but probably wont be. Please help me! I want to try out this rear suspension mod!
oh yeah, it wouldn't be just hard to turn over due to lots of compression would it?
thanks :beer

just skimmed through your post. did you put the cam back in with piston at top dead center and the cam point in the up position? aounds like your cam is 180 degrees off try turning the cam 180 degrees then try it again.

im pretty sure its at centre. Theres a dot on the cam sprocket and i thought that was what you lined up with the top, or does it go down? I also noticed that theres what appears to be exhause coming out of the breather. And the exhaust makes a bubbly sound. Ill rip the engine out again and check the cam, is there a spot where you line the dot on the cam with? or just make it as straight up as possible?
I also tried a new coil with no luck.
thanks

should be a dot. had the same problem on my 86 200x. i had the dot lined up straight up and down but it was 180 degrees the wrong way. popped the head off turned it aound and bam ran great!!! there should be no need to remove the entire engine.

Ill check it tomorow, i was out there for 8 hours today workin on it. When you line it up at top dead centre, with the "T" Mark. Theres also an "F" to the left of it. It lookes like this F l T has a line between them, what's with the F?

You need to line the flywheels 'T' mark up with the hole in the top of the case for top dead center. 'T' stands for 'timing' (you line this mark up to time the motor), and the 'F' stands for 'fire' (when this mark lines up, this is when the motor actually produces spark).
